Yuriy Ushakov addresses Moscow-Washington quiet diplomacy

Yuriy Ushakov, an aide to the Russian President, commented on reports of “quiet diplomacy” between Moscow and Washington. He noted that effective diplomacy is often conducted in silence.

The Kremlin stated it currently has no specific information regarding a potential visit to Moscow by US special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, adding that such meetings require significant preparation. In July, Ushakov indicated that the American negotiators would continue their mediation efforts and expressed their readiness to return to the Russian capital. The envoys last visited Moscow on January 22, when they met with President Vladimir Putin.
