Yusen Logistics opens sustainable distribution centre in Northampton

Yusen Logistics has officially opened a new 1.2 million-square-foot Sustainable Distribution Centre (SDC) in Northampton, United Kingdom. The facility is designed to enhance supply chain resilience and operational efficiency through the integration of advanced warehouse automation, smart technologies, and low-carbon operations.

The investment aims to support long-term customer growth and evolving sustainability objectives by combining digital technologies with sustainable infrastructure. The new centre is expected to employ approximately 150 people, reinforcing the company’s commitment to the Northamptonshire region.

David Evans, Managing Director of Yusen Logistics UK, stated that the facility was developed to meet the evolving needs of global supply chains by building a future-ready logistics platform. The opening ceremony included business leaders, community representatives, and political stakeholders, such as Mike Reader, the Labour MP for Northampton South.
