Yusuf Avcıoğlu proposes technology-driven security reforms

Yusuf Avcıoğlu, a member of the People's Party (HP) Central Executive Board, has proposed a series of technology-driven solutions to address security, public order, and uncontrolled migration. Avcıoğlu argued that traditional methods are insufficient to combat 21st-century organized crime and suggested that current security issues stem from state management lagging behind the digital age.

His five primary technological proposals include:

• Smart pre-notification and digital security filters at border crossings. • Biometric digital identities to eliminate illegal living areas. • Big data and contemporary population census systems. • Alternative technological counting via mobile network and signal analytics. • Predictive policing software to anticipate crime.

Avcıoğlu recommended that security checks begin before individuals enter the country by using AI-supported analysis of passenger pre-notification data from air and sea transport companies. He also suggested using smart passport readers to detect forged documents and unauthorized visas, noting that similar risk analysis and biometric verification systems are utilized in the US, Australia, and the European Union. To track illegal populations, he proposed recording fingerprints and facial biometrics of foreigners upon entry, linking this data to services such as renting housing, opening bank accounts, and obtaining utility subscriptions.
