Yusuf Bichi appointed NISS Board Chair by President Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Yusuf Bichi, the former Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), as the Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Institute for Security Studies (NISS). The appointment was recommended by the current DSS Director-General, Oluwatosin Ajayi.

Bichi will succeed A. A. Gadzama for an initial four-year term. His career in the intelligence community began in the Security Division of the Kano State Cabinet Office before transferring to federal service in 1984. As Chairman, Bichi will oversee the strategic direction of the NISS, which provides advanced training and research for security professionals, law enforcement, and senior government officials to address evolving threats such as insurgency and organized crime.
