Yusuf Tekin discusses vocational education and industry integration
Turkish National Education Minister Yusuf Tekin addressed the Vocational Education and Industry Meeting in Yalova, emphasizing the need to align educational outcomes with employment opportunities. He noted that the ministry is working to overcome historical setbacks in vocational training by analyzing sector needs and repairing social damage.
Tekin highlighted the ‘Project School’ concept, where vocational high school curricula are developed in collaboration with relevant industry chambers. This initiative allows sectors to have more influence over student selection and skill development. Additionally, the minister mentioned government support for on-the-job training and internships, including public funding for insurance to protect students against workplace accidents and occupational diseases.
