Yuto Nagatomo suffers right knee ACL injury

FC Tokyo has announced that defender Yuto Nagatomo has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in his right knee. The injury occurred during the Meiji Yasuda J1 League match against Gamba Osaka on September 12.

Nagatomo, who recently celebrated his 40th birthday, was substituted during the first half of the match. While the club has confirmed the diagnosis following an examination by the team doctor, the expected recovery duration has not yet been disclosed.

Following his participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Nagatomo had previously expressed his commitment to continuing his professional career with FC Tokyo, having renewed his contract in August.
