Yutong electric buses expand rapidly across Europe and Panama
During the first half of 2026, Chinese bus maker Yutong delivered 1,636 electric buses to European markets, twice the number recorded in the same period of 2025. The deliveries made Yutong the largest electric‑bus supplier in Europe. Notable orders included 14 buses for Boreal in Kiruna, Sweden, and a large contract with Tide Buss in Norway. Registrations were recorded in EU member states as well as Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, the United Kingdom, Serbia and Ukraine. In the European ranking, Solaris placed first with 1,022 units, followed by Iveco Bus (911), BYD (681) and MAN (584).
In Panama, five new Yutong electric Metrobus units were inaugurated on the “Ruta Verde” serving the historic centre of Panama City. The buses carry more than 60 passengers, emit zero emissions and are equipped with seven security cameras. The ceremony was led by Minister of the Presidency Juan Carlos Orillac and highlighted the government’s target of having 30 % of the Metrobus fleet electric by the end of the decade.
