Yuval Noah Harari announces new book ‘The Laws of History’

Historian Yuval Noah Harari has announced his upcoming book, ‘The Laws of History’, scheduled for international release on September 21, 2027. The work will be published in Brazil by Companhia das Letras in physical, e-book, and audiobook formats.

In the new book, Harari investigates six laws that he proposes help explain historical processes, such as the rise and fall of empires, the expansion of religions, and the concentration of power among nations. Rather than viewing history as a linear sequence of cause and effect, he describes it as a network of intersecting movements. The author examines various historical periods, including the fall of the Roman Empire, the French Revolution, and World War II, to identify repeating patterns.

Harari emphasizes that while these laws may help understand the past and present, they do not function as a formula to predict the future. He maintains that history remains open to different possibilities based on present-day choices and moral responsibilities.
