Yuya Yagira stars in new film ‘RYUJI’ set in Kabukicho
New character promotional videos have been released for the upcoming film ‘RYUJI’, starring Yuya Yagira. The movie is a modern reimagining of the legendary 1983 film ‘Ryuji’, which was written and directed by Masatsugu Kaneko.
Set in Shinjuku Kabukicho between 1984 and 1990, the story follows Ryuji, a man navigating the underworld while attempting to protect his family and his bonds with his subordinates. The recently released footage features Riku Hagiwara and JUNON (from the group BE:FIRST), who portray Ryuji’s subordinates, Nao and Hiroshi, respectively.
The film is scheduled for a nationwide release in Japan on October 30. The theme song, ‘It’s not a bad life’, will be performed by BE:FIRST.
