Yuzu to donate all proceeds from 'Ikue' live release to Kumamoto earthquake relief

The Japanese musical duo Yuzu has announced the emergency digital release of a live version of their song "Ikue" on August 14. All proceeds from downloads and streaming will be donated to support reconstruction efforts following the Reiwa 8 Kumamoto Earthquake.

"Ikue" was originally written as a song to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake and is featured on their latest album, "Shinon." The specific live version being released was recorded during a performance at the Yokohama Arena in July.

The duo expressed their intention to use their music as a means of support, stating, "We wanted to expand the circle of support through our fundamental element, 'song.'" This follows Yuzu's history of disaster relief, including support for the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake and the 2018 West Japan floods.
