Yves Bodler Ngongo appointed as new prefect of Brazzaville

Yves Bodler Ngongo has been officially installed as the new prefect of the Brazzaville department. The inauguration ceremony took place on August 28, presided over by the Minister of the Interior and Decentralization, Jean Olessongo Ondaye.

Ngongo, a former senior officer of the Congolese armed forces with training from the former USSR, China, and Algeria, has defined a roadmap centered on public security, collective discipline, and administrative proximity. He emphasized that state authority must be respected while remaining just, responsible, and humane. He stated that the administration will take a firm stance against incivility, violence, and any threats to public tranquility, noting that sustainable development is impossible without security.

The new prefect also called for increased citizen engagement and cooperation with municipal and administrative authorities, describing the development and peace of the capital as a collective responsibility.
