Yves Saint Laurent Museum hosts Odette du Puigaudeau exhibition

The Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Marrakech is hosting an exhibition titled ‘Sur les traces d’Odette du Puigaudeau,’ featuring over 200 works and documents. The exhibition traces the life of Odette du Puigaudeau, an explorer and observer of nomadic cultures.

Born in Saint-Nazaire in 1894, du Puigaudeau’s career spanned scientific illustration, stage costumes, and design for Jeanne Lanvin. In 1928, she obtained a professional navigation license and began traveling via Breton tuna boats. Following a meeting with journalist and painter Marion Sénones in 1931, the two embarked on a lifelong partnership, traveling the Sahara for over twenty-five years to document their discoveries through drawing and photography.

The exhibition follows her journey from Brittany and Paris to the desert tracks, concluding with her life in Rabat, where she settled in 1961 and lived until her death.
