Yvonne Li secured the first German victory at the Badminton World Championships in Delhi, advancing to the second round after a clear win against Hungary’s Agnes Korosi.

Other German pairings faced early exits. The duo of Jonathan Dresp and Simon Krax suffered a three-set defeat in their World Championship debut against Thailand’s Peeratchai Sukphun and Pakkapon Teeraratsakul, with a final score of 12:21, 21:15, and 11:21. German head coach Hannes Käsbauer noted the high level of the Thai pair, who are ranked in the world top 40.

Additionally, Bjarne Geiss and Jones Ralfy Jansen were eliminated after losing in three sets to Singapore’s Eng Keat Wesley Koh and Junsuke Kubo, despite winning the opening set 21:16.
