Żywiec receives funding for Habsburg Park tree protection

The city of Żywiec has been awarded over 73,000 PLN to continue the protection of the tree population in the historic Habsburg Park. This funding, totaling 73,703.31 PLN, was provided by the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (WFOŚiGW) in Katowice.

This initiative marks the second stage of a project aimed at preserving the unique greenery of the park, which is listed in the regional monument register. The first stage of the project, which began in early 2026 with a grant of 112,320 PLN, included sanitary and maintenance work such as crown treatments, removing unhealthy trees, milling remaining stumps, and performing replacement plantings.

The second stage will build upon these previous efforts to ensure the safety and conservation of the park's natural and landscape values, though the specific scope of the upcoming works has not yet been detailed.
