Żywiec to build new pedestrian bridge over Koszarawa

The city of Żywiec is preparing to expand its transport hub project in Sporysz by constructing a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge over the Koszarawa river. This new crossing is intended to provide a direct connection to the being-built Żywiec Amfiteatr railway station.

The Silesian Voivodeship Marshal's Office has granted conditional approval to expand the project scope and utilize remaining funds. To proceed, the city must first prepare a Functional and Utility Program (PFU) to define the bridge's exact location, technical parameters, and connection points to existing communication routes.

The bridge will be located in the area colloquially known by residents as the area ‘behind the second dam’. It is intended as an additional crossing rather than a reconstruction of the existing arched bridge near the Amfiteatr Pod Grojcem, which was completed in 2023.
