Z Energy opens new truck stop and fuel site in Tauriko
Z Energy has officially opened a new truck stop and self-service fuel site in Tauriko, located within one of the Bay of Plenty’s primary transport corridors. The facility combines a Z Truck Stop with a U-GO self-service site, serving both commercial freight operators and general motorists traveling between Tauranga, Waikato, and Auckland.
The new site features three refueling lanes equipped with high-flow commercial pumps and AdBlue at every lane. Additionally, the U-GO facility provides self-service 91 and 95 petrol, as well as diesel. The opening was marked by representatives from local mana whenua Ngai Tamarawaho, Bay of Plenty MP Tom Rutherford, and Z Energy leadership.
Z Energy stated the development is part of a broader investment in New Zealand’s fuel infrastructure to support the growing commercial and industrial activity in the Tauriko region. Justin Tighe-Umbers, CEO of National Road Carriers, noted that reliable fuel infrastructure is critical for the freight operators responsible for moving goods across the country.
