Zac Lomax remains in Wallabies World Cup selection contention

Wallabies coach Les Kiss confirmed that winger Zac Lomax is still being considered for the Rugby World Cup squad despite his announced move to the NRL's PNG Chiefs in 2028. Lomax, who is recovering from a groin injury, could be given game time in the upcoming Super Rugby AUS competition to assess his form. Kiss said the competition for back‑three spots, including players such as Harry Potter, Dylan Pietsch, Filipo Daugunu and Max Jorgensen, will drive performance and improve the team. Lomax has reiterated his desire to wear the Australian gold jersey, stating his commitment to rugby union while preparing for the World Cup.
