Zacarías Morán Correa turns to social causes after career-ending injuries

Zacarías Morán Correa, a former youth prospect at River Plate, has transitioned from professional football to supporting social causes following career-altering injuries. A central midfielder who joined the club at age 11, Morán Correa was considered a rising talent and was part of the squad under manager Marcelo Gallardo.

His professional trajectory was significantly impacted by two severe knee ligament ruptures. The first occurred in September 2016 during a Reserve match against Talleres, shortly before his official debut. Morán Correa made his only official appearance for River Plate's first team on May 25, 2017, playing 90 minutes in a Copa Libertadores match against Independiente Medellín.
