Zacatecas authorities dismantle synthetic drug mega-laboratory

During 'Operation Tornado,' federal and state security forces dismantled a large-scale synthetic drug production site in the mountainous region of Sombrerete, Zacatecas.

Joint efforts involving the Mexican Army, the National Guard, and the Fuerza de Reacción Inmediata Zacatecas (FRIZ) led to the discovery of a two-hectare property containing four clandestine outdoor kitchens. Authorities seized various equipment and supplies used for processing illicit substances.

Security forces have established a perimeter around the site to conduct further investigations and rule out the presence of armed individuals in the area. All seized materials have been turned over to the competent authorities for processing.
