Zacatecas climbs to 24th place at 2026 National Olympics
The Zacatecas delegation finished the 2026 National Olympics with 45 medals – 14 gold, 10 silver and 21 bronze – moving up five spots in the overall ranking to 24th place, its best position in recent years. BMX was the most successful discipline, contributing ten medals, followed by athletics and raquetball with five each, and a range of other sports adding to the tally.
Governor David Monreal Ávila highlighted the results as evidence of the state government's ongoing sports development efforts under the 2026 Progress Agenda, aimed at strengthening social cohesion and wellbeing through athletic achievement.
