Zacatecas COVAM approves 26 million pesos for 27 migrant-led projects
The Committee for Validation and Attention to Migrants (COVAM) has approved 27 community and social benefit projects for the 2026 fiscal year under the 'Programa 2x1'. The initiative involves a tripartite investment exceeding 26 million pesos, contributed by the state government, 13 municipalities, and Zacatecan migrant clubs.
The approved projects will be implemented across various municipalities, including Guadalupe, Valparaíso, Francisco R. Murguía, and Zacatecas, among others. These works encompass school equipment, sports facility improvements, religious space rehabilitations, street paving, and community service projects.
Participating migrant federations and clubs include groups from Oklahoma, Illinois, Texas, California, Denver, Oxnard, and Los Angeles, highlighting the active involvement of the Zacatecan diaspora in developing their home regions.
