Zacatecas establishes Day of the Dead and Festival of Lights
The administration of Governor David Monreal Ávila in Zacatecas has established the Day of the Dead Festival and the Festival of Lights as permanent fixtures in the state's cultural agenda. These celebrations are designed to promote social well-being by reclaiming public spaces, such as streets and plazas, for family interaction.
According to officials, the festivals aim to strengthen local identity and allow new generations to connect with the state's history. Sara Hernández de Monreal, President of the State System for Integral Family Development (SEDIF), has supported these initiatives to foster family coexistence and maintain cultural traditions through large-scale public gatherings.
