Zacatecas government accused of creating journalist blacklists

Allegations have surfaced regarding the government of Zacatecas, Mexico, creating blacklists of journalists and activists. Journalist Verónica Trujillo reported that her name, phone number, home address, and vehicle license plates were included in a list, leading her to state that her personal safety and that of her daughters are at risk.

José Narro Céspedes, a federal deputy, criticized the administration of David Monreal, suggesting the creation of these lists is a desperate attempt to pressure media outlets that are not aligned with the government. Narro Céspedes noted that he himself is included on such lists and characterized the actions as an effort to influence the 2027 succession process.
