Zacatecas Government Exceeds 2025 Missing‑Persons Search Targets

The state government of Zacatecas, led by Governor David Monreal Ávila, announced that its 2025 State Search for Missing Persons Program surpassed its goals. Of the 195 actions originally planned, 443 were carried out, aided by coordination with the state prosecutor's office, families of the missing, and other institutions.

Secretary‑General Rodrigo Reyes Mugüerza highlighted 275 dignified deliveries made by the Fiscalía General de Justicia, the identification of 270 individuals through a partnership with the National Electoral Institute, and outreach to 19,858 people with preventive talks. The effort also included 30 permanent‑working‑group sessions, forensic searches using drones, and support from the Mexican Army.

The authorities stressed that the collaborative approach with civic groups will continue to provide assistance and peace of mind to families of the absent.
