Zacatecas government expands search for missing persons in Guadalupe

The state government of Zacatecas, led by Governor David Monreal Ávila, intensified efforts to locate and identify missing persons across the state. On 18 June 2026 a large‑scale forensic search was conducted in the Las Mangas community of Guadalupe, covering five hectares with technological tools and the participation of families of the missing.

The operation involved the State General Secretariat, the Local Commission for the Search of Missing Persons, the State Human Rights Commission, the Integrated Victim Assistance Executive Commission, as well as personnel from the Public Security Secretariat, the Mexican Army and the National Guard. Coordination was also provided by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Forced Disappearance and the State Attorney General’s Office.

The joint effort aims to support families, improve victim identification, and strengthen the response to forced disappearances in the region.
