Zacatecas government launches artisanal workshops for women

The Government of Zacatecas, through the Secretariat of Women, has launched several training workshops aimed at fostering economic autonomy and cultural preservation among local women.

One initiative included a workshop on crafting aromatic artisanal candles, providing 50 participants with practical skills to develop productive projects. Another program focused on Wixárika traditional arts, teaching participants to create items such as earrings, bracelets, and ‘eyes of God’ to preserve cultural heritage.

These activities are part of the state’s ‘Agenda del Progreso’ (Progress Agenda), led by Governor David Monreal Ávila and managed by Secretariat head Karla Isabel Guardado Oropeza. The programs seek to create learning spaces that promote creativity, personal development, and new economic opportunities for women in the region.
