Zacatecas Governor announces 73 billion peso social investment

Zacatecas Governor David Monreal Ávila announced that joint investments from the federal and state governments in social programs have reached over 73.2 billion pesos over the last five years. During the ‘Bienestar para Todas y Todos’ forum in Fresnillo, Monreal reported that these resources have benefited more than 825,000 residents, with 51 out of every 100 inhabitants receiving at least one social benefit.

The administration stated that these policies helped 140,000 people exit extreme poverty between 2021 and 2026. The investment covers various sectors, including education, health, housing, and economic development. Additionally, the state is expanding its social infrastructure, including the announcement of 348 new community clinics.

In related development efforts, the state is also focusing on sports infrastructure through an alliance with Conade. This includes a joint investment of 126 million pesos to develop 100 sports courts as part of the ‘Mundial Social 2026’ strategy. Furthermore, a job fair held in Fresnillo offered over 1,000 vacancies to support local economic growth.
