Zacatecas Governor inaugurates advanced police training shooting range

Governor David Monreal Ávila has inaugurated a new advanced shooting range at the Professional Training Institute in Zacatecas. The project, which involved an investment of approximately 30 million pesos in construction and equipment, features seven armored lanes and a virtual shooting simulator. The facility is described as one of the five best of its kind in the country.

During the inauguration, the Governor noted that the state police force has grown from 800 to 1,400 members during his administration. He also authorized the hiring of 50 additional officers to support new infrastructure, including the C5i, Immediate Reaction Units (Unirse), and Regional Security Detachments (Deres). Monreal expressed his intention to develop legal frameworks to ensure the state police force remains institutionally stable and protected from political changes during future administrations.
