Zacatecas Governor inaugurates mining pavilion at FENAZA 2026
Governor David Monreal Ávila has inaugurated the Pabellón Minero Zacatecas 2026 at the National Zacatecas Fair (FENAZA). The pavilion is part of a strategy to strengthen ties between the government, private companies, academia, and society, while introducing younger generations to the mining sector.
The event features 35 supplier companies and major mining firms operating in the state, including Newmont Peñasquito, Pan American Silver, Fresnillo plc, Equinox Gold–Mina Camino Rojo, Capstone Copper, Aura Minerals, and Mina San Nicolás. The pavilion includes interactive modules such as the ‘Ruta del Explorador’, virtual reality rooms, and simulators to demonstrate processes like mineral identification, exploration, and environmental restoration.
Zacatecas remains a strategic leader in national mining. According to state government data citing INEGI, the entity maintained its position as the leading national producer of gold, silver, lead, and zinc at the close of 2025.
