Zacatecas hosts inaugural Traditional Bread Festival

The city of Zacatecas has launched the first Traditional Bread Festival Zacatecas 2026. Held from October 23 to 25 at the Plazuela Miguel Auza, the event aims to preserve local culinary traditions, recognize the talent of bakers, and stimulate the local economy.

The festival features a diverse cultural program, including musical performances by groups such as M&G, the Ballet Folclórico de Pánuco, and the Municipal Symphony Band. Activities range from traditional dances and matlachines to rock music and choral performances.

Among the participants is the historic bakery ‘El Ruco’ from Pinos, Zacatecas. Established in 1955, the bakery is noted for its artisanal wood-fired bread and its long-standing role in the gastronomic identity of the Pinos municipality.
