Zacatecas must audit UAZ payrolls before financial rescue, says Carlos Puente

Carlos Puente, a former federal deputy, stated that Zacatecas must present clear, registered projects to the Ministry of Finance to secure increased federal resources for 2027. He emphasized that the state must ensure it can effectively execute budgets to avoid underspending.

Regarding the Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas (UAZ), Puente argued that before discussing a financial rescue, the institution must undergo internal auditing, specifically regarding its payrolls, to ensure transparency and determine actual funding needs. Additionally, he expressed regret over the cancellation of the Milpillas dam project, noting the loss of a nearly 9 billion peso investment intended to improve water availability in the state.
