Zacatecas State Government Welcomes 25 Migrant Youth for Cultural Heritage Trip

The government of Zacatecas, under Governor David Monreal Ávila, received 25 young women representing Zacatecan migrant clubs from the United States and Mexico. The participants, called "reinas de clubes," are second‑ and third‑generation migrants from nine federations, including groups in Texas, Oklahoma, Illinois, California, Fort Worth and Mexico City. From July 23 to 30 they toured the capital and the state’s Pueblos Mágicos—Guadalupe, Sombrerete and Villanueva—as well as the municipality of Valparaíso. Organized by the Secretaría del Zacatecano Migrante (Sezami) and its head Iván Reyes Millán, the eight‑day itinerary featured historic, religious and cultural sites to strengthen the youths’ identity, traditions and ties to their ancestral municipalities.

The program aims to reinforce the sense of belonging among the Zacatecan diaspora by exposing them to regional customs, cuisine and history.
