Zacatecas to host inaugural traditional bread festival

The National Chamber of the Baking Industry (Canainpa) has announced the first Zacatecas Bread Festival, scheduled to take place from October 23 to 25 at the Miguel Auza plaza. The event aims to identify and promote traditional regional breads, such as cemita, suspiros, and condoche, by connecting local bakers with university researchers to trace their historical origins.

Organizers intend to use the festival to support the newly formed Canainpa delegation in Zacatecas. Local bakers will donate traditional bread during the celebrations to raise funds for the association. The initiative seeks to document the history of breads traditionally consumed by miners in the region.
