Zach Braff provides updates on Scrubs revival casting

Zach Braff has provided updates regarding the upcoming seasons of the ‘Scrubs’ revival. Addressing fan interest in the character Ollie Dorian, the son of J.D. and Elliot, Braff noted that while the storyline is in creator Bill Lawrence’s plans, the current focus remains on reestablishing the hospital setting and introducing new interns.

Regarding the return of Ken Jenkins, who portrayed Dr. Kelso, Braff expressed uncertainty. Despite previous indications from Lawrence that the character would return, Braff stated that the production must be “respectful of his age,” noting that a return may be a “big ask” for the 86-year-old actor.

While Jenkins’ return is uncertain, several original cast members are confirmed for the second season, including John C. McGinley as Dr. Cox, Judy Reyes as Carla, and Neil Flynn as The Janitor. The upcoming episodes will reportedly focus on the original characters rallying to help Dr. Cox treat an autoimmune disease.
