Director Zach Cregger and actor Austin Abrams will travel to São Paulo, Brazil, to promote the upcoming film “Resident Evil”. The production, inspired by the popular PlayStation video game franchise, is scheduled to premiere in Brazilian cinemas on September 17, 2026.

Directed by Cregger and co-written by Shay Hatten, the film features a new story centered on Bryan, a medical courier played by Abrams, who must fight for survival during a chaotic and terrifying night. The movie was filmed for IMAX and various special formats. The production is a collaboration between Columbia Pictures, Constantin Film, and TriStar Pictures.
