Zach Dembo faces criticism in competitive Kentucky 6th District race
Democrat Zach Dembo, a candidate for Kentucky’s 6th Congressional District, is facing criticism following accusations from a Kentucky state trooper. The trooper claimed Dembo favors criminals over law enforcement, a statement promoted by the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) on social media.
Despite this controversy, the Cook Political Report has shifted its rating of the district to ‘Toss Up,’ marking the third time the rating has moved in Dembo’s direction. While the district historically leans Republican, recent private polling commissioned by the DCCC and House Majority PAC suggests Dembo holds a six-to-seven point lead over Republican Ralph Alvarado.
Alvarado, a physician, is facing scrutiny regarding his management of nursing homes and his political ties to former Governor Matt Bevin. The race is considered highly competitive, with both parties investing heavily in the district.
