Zach Edey cleared for on-court activity with Memphis Grizzlies
Memphis Grizzlies center Zach Edey has been medically cleared for on-court activity following rehabilitation for his left ankle. After undergoing two surgical procedures—one in June 2025 to address ligamentous laxity and another in March to alleviate bone stress—Edey is now on track for the season opener on October 21.
General manager Zach Kleiman indicated that while the team may be conservative with Edey’s usage during the preseason, they are encouraged by his progress. Edey, who appeared in only 11 games during the 2024/25 campaign, noted that while recovery has had both good and bad days, he feels more athletic than ever.
