Zach Ertz cleared to play, Broncos weigh signing veteran tight end

Tight end Zach Ertz, 35, has been medically cleared to resume football activities after a torn ACL that ended his 2025 season. Ertz, a three‑time Pro Bowler who most recently played for the Washington Commanders, said he wants to return for the 2026 season and is expected to be ready to sign a contract by mid‑August.

The Denver Broncos, identified as having a pressing need at tight end, are reportedly considering Ertz as a low‑cost option.
