Zach Ertz elevated to Philadelphia Eagles active roster
The Philadelphia Eagles have elevated veteran tight end Zach Ertz to the active roster for their Week 3 matchup against the Chicago Bears. Ertz, who previously helped the franchise secure its first Super Bowl title, was initially signed to the practice squad to address depth issues in the tight end position.
The move follows an injury to Dallas Goedert, who is sidelined with a sprained MCL. The 35-year-old Ertz returns to Philadelphia after stints with the Arizona Cardinals and Washington Commanders, and after recovering from a significant knee injury involving a torn ACL and LCL.
Ertz, a former Pro Bowler, provides experienced pass-catching support for quarterback Jalen Hurts as the Eagles prepare for Monday Night Football.
