Zach Lahn faces campaign challenges in Iowa gubernatorial race

Republican gubernatorial nominee Zach Lahn is facing challenges in his campaign for governor of Iowa. The Iowa Farm Bureau political action committee declined to endorse Lahn, despite endorsing several other Republican candidates. The omission follows Lahn’s campaign platform, which focuses on regenerative farming and addresses agricultural surface water pollution, issues that may conflict with the interests of large agribusinesses.

During a recent rally in Iowa City, Lahn emphasized a grassroots approach, pledging to resist lobbyists and special interests. Appearing alongside conservative commentator Benny Johnson, Lahn framed the election as a fight to preserve American culture. The campaign is competing against Democratic nominee Rob Sand to succeed outgoing Governor Kim Reynolds.

Additionally, reports indicate that the farm of Lahn’s running mate for lieutenant governor, Derek Wulf, has been placed in receivership due to unpaid bills, and a criminal investigation into the matter is reportedly underway.
