Zachary Athekamesi excels on loan at Olympique Lyonnais

Zachary Athekamesi is experiencing significant growth during his loan spell at Olympique Lyonnais from AC Milan. The Swiss defender has become one of the more effective full-backs in Europe, earning recent call-ups to the Swiss national team.

Olympique de Marseille's sporting director, Gregory Lorenzi, revealed that Marseille had been in concrete contact with Athekamesi and his entourage before the player ultimately chose Lyon. Lorenzi noted that the necessary conditions to finalize a move to Marseille were not met.

At AC Milan, manager Ruben Amorim confirmed that the club is closely monitoring Athekamesi’s progress. Amorim noted that while the player was viewed differently at the start of the season, his current performance under Lyon's management is highly positive, providing valuable experience for a potential future return to Milan.
