Zack Snyder releases first teaser for ‘The Last Photograph’

Director Zack Snyder has released the first teaser for ‘The Last Photograph,’ a project he has been developing for over two decades. The film marks a significant departure from his typical large-scale superhero and sci-fi blockbusters, moving instead into the territory of an intimate, dark drama thriller.

Set in the mountains of South America, the story follows Ethan Black, an ex-DEA operative played by Stuart Martin, who is searching for his missing niece and nephew following the brutal murders of their diplomat parents. He is aided by a troubled war photographer, played by Fra Fee, who is the only witness to the killings. The narrative is expected to explore themes of grief, trauma, and the blurring lines between reality and the surreal.

Snyder, who also served as cinematographer, wrote the screenplay alongside longtime collaborator Kurt Johnstad. Principal photography took place across Colombia, Iceland, and Los Angeles. While a major studio has not yet been attached for distribution, the film is expected to be released in 2027.
