Zack Snyder uncertain about future of Rebel Moon franchise

Director Zack Snyder has expressed uncertainty regarding the future of the ‘Rebel Moon’ franchise, stating he does not know if a third installment will be produced. During an interview at the Toronto Film Festival, Snyder indicated that the possibility of a third film depends on the popularity and audience reception of the director's cuts of the first two films on Netflix.

While Netflix has not officially canceled the franchise, it has not approved a third film either. Audience data shows a significant gap in viewership between the original releases and the director's cuts. For instance, while ‘Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire’ garnered 135.6 million views, its director's cut reached approximately 13.6 million. ‘Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver’ saw 76 million views for the original, compared to 14.2 million for its director's cut.
