Zadar imposes traffic restrictions for Noć punog mjeseca celebration
The City of Zadar will enforce a special traffic regulation on the Poluotok peninsula during the "Noć punog mjeseca" religious celebration on Saturday night, 8 August. From 19:30 until 01:00 on Sunday, 9 August, the road segment between Liburnska obala and Lančana vrata through the Foša area will be closed to regular traffic. Access will be limited to emergency vehicles, municipal services and residents of the affected streets, with police and security personnel assisting the flow.
The regulation coincides with the blessing of a new three‑metre‑tall statue of Our Lady of Sniježna, created by sculptor Vlado Knežević and consecrated by Archbishop Milan Zgrablić. The statue, placed near a busy maritime channel, is intended as a beacon of faith for passing vessels. The traffic study accompanying the measure aims to collect data on vehicle counts and the proportion of domestic versus foreign cars, informing future zoning and parking policies on the peninsula.
