Zafferana Etnea concludes 46th Ottobrata festival
The 46th edition of the Ottobrata festival in Zafferana Etnea has concluded, marking a record-breaking year for the historic Sicilian event. Dedicated to autumn and the local products of the Etna region, the festival saw unprecedented attendance from visitors across Sicily and Calabria.
The final Sunday focused on the “Sagra dei Funghi e delle Castagne” (Festival of Mushrooms and Chestnuts), celebrating seasonal flavors from the slopes of Mount Etna. The event featured gastronomic stands, local artisanal crafts, and cultural performances, including live music and comedy.
As a recurring monthly tradition throughout October, the festival rotates themes each Sunday to celebrate specific agricultural products, such as grapes, honey, and apples. The event is noted for its organized infrastructure, including shuttle services to manage the high volume of visitors.
