Zagreb City Assembly approves new parking fines and regulations

The Zagreb City Assembly has approved new regulations regarding the use of public parking spaces. Under the updated decision, communal wardens will be authorized to penalize improper use of reserved parking spots in front of kindergartens.

Fines for violating these rules are set at 260 euros for individuals, 660 euros for legal entities, and 220 euros for the responsible person within a legal entity. Reserved parking in front of kindergartens will be restricted to a maximum of 15 minutes during the hours of 7:00 to 9:00 and 15:00 to 17:00; outside of these windows, the spots will function as regular parking.

The Assembly also approved the establishment of “brown blocks,” which are special parking zones restricted to residents and business users with specific permits. Additionally, the Assembly accepted Mayor Tomislav Tomašević’s work report for the first half of 2026, a new scholarship program for various student demographics, and amendments to the 2026 municipal infrastructure construction program.
