Zagreb County Emergency Medical Institute receives new ambulance fleet

The Emergency Medical Institute of Zagreb County has received five new ambulance vehicles, with an additional three ambulances and six sanitary transport vehicles expected to arrive later this year. The initial group of vehicles, valued at 618,750 euros, will be distributed to medical stations in Jastrebarsko, Samobor, Zaprešić, Velika Gorica, and Sveti Ivan Zelina.

Ervin Kolarec, Deputy Prefect of Zagreb County, emphasized that these vehicles serve as ‘hospitals on wheels,’ which are vital for ensuring healthcare accessibility across the county’s territory, particularly during the tourist season. The second phase of deliveries, scheduled for autumn, will provide vehicles to Ivanić-Grad, Dugo Selo, and Vrbovcu.

Institute Director Davorin Gajnik reported that the institute currently manages a fleet of 105 vehicles, covering over 7 million kilometers annually. The service manages 55 T1 teams, performing more than 46,000 emergency interventions and 82,000 sanitary transports per year.
