Zagreb court rejects SLAPP claim in Medikol vs. Kekin lawsuit

The Municipal Civil Court in Zagreb has scheduled a hearing to present evidence in a lawsuit filed by Poliklinika Medikol against Member of Parliament Ivana Kekin of the Možemo! party. The dispute follows Kekin's public statements questioning the clinic's business operations and its relationship with the Croatian Health Insurance Fund (HZZO).

Kekin has characterized the legal action as a Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation (SLAPP), arguing it is intended to discourage her public activities. However, the court did not accept her request to dismiss the lawsuit on these grounds. Medikol maintains that the legal proceedings are necessary to protect its reputation and business from what it describes as untrue claims.
