Zagreb extends third cycle of neighbourhood improvement scheme
The City of Zagreb has opened the third cycle of the “Give a Suggestion for a Better District!” project, running from 6 July to 16 August. Residents can submit proposals for public‑space upgrades – sidewalks, parks, playgrounds, dog parks and other amenities – either online or in person at local district offices.
Thirteen city districts are participating, and the city council has allocated a record €1.762 million for the selected projects. Individual district budgets range from €30 000 in Podsljeme to €300 000 in Novi Zagreb‑West. After an initial period of public hearings, proposals will be evaluated and the final projects will be chosen by citizen voting from late October to late November.
So far, 14 of the 29 previously chosen projects have been completed, with another 15 in various stages of implementation, totaling over €1.1 million in expenditures.
