Zagreb hosts foundation stone blessing for Nova Bila Memorial Center

A foundation stone for the Memorial Center of Croats in Nova Bila was ceremonially blessed in Zagreb on September 22, 2026. The stone is intended to be installed at the future site in Nova Bila to serve as a permanent monument to people and events in Croatian history.

The blessing was performed by Mons. Marko Kovač, an assistant bishop of Zagreb, alongside several other clergy members. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Foundation for the Memorial Center of Croats, including Board Chairman General Ilija Nakić and Director Anto Bilić. Other notable attendees included Zvonko Milas, State Secretary for Croats Living Outside the Republic of Croatia, and Damir Zorić, President of Matica hrvatska.

The event, supported by contributors from Zagreb, Osijek, and Samobor, symbolizes the unity and connection between Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia.
